The 29th Annual Meeting of KSBNS. The Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences. September 6(Sun) - 8(Tue), 2026. Daejeon Convention Center, Daejeon, Korea.

Chang Jin-GNT Pharma Award

The Chang Jin Award honors the distinguished academic achievements and dedication of the late Professor Chang Jin (Joseph J. Chang), founding President of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (KSBNS). The award is presented to a KSBNS member who has made outstanding and creative contributions to the advancement of brain and neural sciences, with the aim of promoting the continued growth of neuroscience research and the Society.

Professor Chang served as the inaugural President of KSBNS at its foundation in 1992 under its former name, the Korean Society for Neurobiology. He also led the establishment of the Society’s official journal, Experimental Neurobiology (EN), and devoted himself to its editorial development. Through these efforts, EN has grown into an internationally recognized SCIE-indexed journal.

Following Professor Chang’s passing in September 2011, his family established this award to commemorate his scientific legacy. Since then, it has been presented to outstanding researchers, together with a monetary prize. Beginning in 2025, GNT Pharma has generously supported the award in continuation of Professor Chang’s legacy.
